Matthew 25:16-17
“Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also.”
Beloved,
Don’t leave what is working for you. However, you should not limit yourself by failing to steward what is working for you properly. Let’s look at the parable of the talents we started discussing in the opening verse:
Matthew 25:20-23
20“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’”
One key to effective stewardship of the work, ministry, talent and/or calling is to, first of all, see it as your advantage. How does that place, position or work that God entrusted to your care prepare you for your destiny journey? Ensure you are making the most of every lesson and opportunity that is made available to you. Another way to make the most of the work set before you is to know the one and the One who sent you to do the work. What is the goal they want to achieve. What is important to them? What do they have to offer you? Are your priorities and theirs aligned? Knowing these things will help you to do the work set before you with excellence so that you can optimize the opportunity.
Beloved, times will come when the work set before you is not preferred. It might feel overwhelming or underwhelming. It might feel unfair. It may even feel impossible. If you take your time to see the value in it, you can keep going to ensure you don’t miss opportunities God is making available to you.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
