DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Psalm 88:3
“For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to the grave.”

Beloved,

Sickness is triggered by a number of factors: mistakes or carelessness, ancestral flows, and so on. But a major reason, especially as of recent, is sorrow of heart. What is especially significant about it is that sorrow of heart empowers every other factor that can be responsible for illness- especially the one that keeps you from doing the needful in life. For this reason, I admonish us, please, do all you can to guard against the sorrow of the heart.

Stress often disguises itself as sorrow of the heart, and causes a plethora of different symptoms. It can affect how you feel physically, mentally and it also impacts your behavior. It is not always easy to recognize when stress is the reason you’re feeling or acting differently. Let’s look at some of the symptoms to look out for:

  1. Physical symptoms: These can include headaches, dizziness, or faster heartbeat.
  2. Mental symptoms: These can include difficulty in making decisions, trouble concentrating, feeling overwhelmed, constantly worrying and even being forgetful. These symptoms can cause the victim to become irritable, withdrawn and even avoidant.

Beloved, if something bad happens, don’t let it turn into sorrow of the heart. Tap into the resources available under God to prevent your heart from becoming embittered. Talk to God and seek medical or professional advice if you feel overwhelmed. People have passed through worse situations, yet they came out of it strengthened. Beloved, if you allow that state of sorrowful heart to persist, the goal of the devil is to use that event to lead you to the grave. The power of your choice will determine your reaction to occurrences.

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
