Psalm 49:12
A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, is like the beasts that perish.
Beloved,
One major part of self-knowledge that must be well-communicated to children is the value system. When a man lacks that knowledge, he misbehaves easily. When you see choices that some people make—who they walk with, how they dress, what they do and their lifestyles in general, you can easily know how little they value their lives.
The first thing that gives value to a man (whether he is born again or not) is the fact that he has the breath of God in his nostrils. This makes a man to be different from every other creature. This breath of God is a major value that must be appreciated by a deliberate decision of each person to live and not die like a chicken. It is the breath of God in a man that qualifies a man to have glory so much that he is above all creatures, including angels. Yes, man lost the glory due to the fall of Adam, but as man turns back to God through Jesus Christ, he takes his position of glory back and begins to operate as a god on the earth.
Even with falling from glory because of sin, man’s value is still good. How much more in redemption—it is par excellence! So, no matter what the devil is bringing on your way, never allow what you are going through to relegate or devalue you. Your life is worth much more.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
