Acts 3:4-5
4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
Beloved,
I once had a conversation with a friend of mine at the beginning of a year; I asked her of her goals and expectations for the year. The sister unapologetically told me that she had no expectation for that year. In amazement, I asked her for the reason for this and she said that it was because all her expectations over past years had not come to fulfillment. So, she did not see a need to have any expectation again because she does not want her hopes to be dashed.
This is the story of many people on the faith lane. They claim to have faith but no expectations because of past disappointments. I can understand that feeling because everyone who sets expectation gets disappointed occasionally, the only difference is that we handle it differently.
So, when it seems that what you are expectant of does not come to manifestation, bless the Lord, and re-route your expectation.
The unmet expectation today does not mean that it will not be met tomorrow. On the faith lane, we expect forward. We hope forward, knowing well that the kingdom’s system of restoration has a way of bringing what you seem to have lost in the past to your present and make it relevant to your future.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
