Hebrews 12:28-29 (AMP)
Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, and offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship with reverence and awe; for our God is [indeed] a consuming fire.
Beloved,
When it comes to God, we have different views about Him, and we have different expectations of how worship should be. But we must take our time to understand how God wants to be worshiped, so that we will not just worship in vain.
It takes grace to serve God, but you must also know the God that you serve. If you don’t know Him, you will cross certain boundaries you shouldn’t cross. From our text, we observe that we cannot separate worship from service and for the sake of this teaching, we must see the two as the same. Due to a lack of balanced teachings, we have trained ourselves to think that whenever we are asked to worship God, it entails singing and dancing. No, worship is more than that.
If we agree that our service is as good as our worship, then you will understand why Luke 1:74 says,
“To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear.”
Luke 1:74
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
