Hebrews 12:28-29 AMP
Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, and offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship with reverence and awe; 29for our God is [indeed] a consuming fire.
Beloved,
As much as God wants our presence in His presence, it is important we learn how to present ourselves in His presence lest we get ourselves into trouble.
Many pastors, all because they want a crowd or all in the name of bridging the gap between divinity and humanity, have presented God to men as the God that accept anything and everything. If God accepts just any form of behavior and attitude, He would not have killed Uzzah neither would He have disregarded Cain’s offering
The Bible is clear about the expectation of God from man and what he requires from him. You will do yourself a favor to find out those requirements and stick to it. The reason why we must abide by the Lord’s prescription for appearing in His presence is the last verse of the above passage that says, “our God is a consuming fire”. If you do not want to be consumed, ensure that your worship is always the kind that is acceptable to God.
