Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.”
Beloved,
The duty of a watchman is to guard against the attack of the enemy. This is because the devil seeks to destroy every good thing that God has ordained. The family unit will break apart if you don’t act as a watchman over your marriage union. Let’s take some time to study strategy as it pertains to being a watchman over your marriage:
- Know Your areas of vulnerability. This starts with you being aware of patterns and incidents in your own family history. If you learn that abuse or divorce or any form of loss has been a template over generations, deal with it! This starts with your decision. Make a choice to have a better outcome. Get into scripture. Declare what God has spoken concerning marriage (e.g.- Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5: 35-29, Ephesians 4:2-3, etc.) If your own parents and grandparents a template for bad marriage, determine never to become like them. Period. Don’t discard any details however seemingly insignificant or inconsequential. Bear these things in mind because they are what you will have to guard against in your own marriage.
- Break free: Deliverance! Once you have identified threats to covenant, Go through deliverance to break free from identified negative ancestral flows, yokes, and curses.
– Break Free: Strongholds and ungodly soul ties. Detach yourself from practices foreign to God’s order of how things should be. - God Ordered Establishment: God places the solitary in families. Get Connected! Intentionally join yourself and family to a sound local church where you and your children can obtain grace, help and resources to be an exceptional family on the earth.
- Grow! Pursue knowledge and acquire necessary skills and tools needed to enjoy marriage and its fruit as God intended.
Keep it up! Never get weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9). Grow in God and in faith by servicing your relationship with God daily. Service your relationship with yourself, also. We are all tripartite spirits: mind, body and spirit. All three need to be fueled and nourished well with God’s Word and all of the spiritual intelligence we enjoy as we maintain our relationship with His precious, Holy Spirit. Help your spouse and children to come to this understanding and lifestyle also.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
