We all make assumptions. We make assumptions about people, places, and all sorts. Our experience in making assumptions would have shown us that some of our assumptions are right while some are wrong.
Making assumptions is part of our decision-making strategy. However, we have to be careful because the weakness of an assumption is that it is not based on robust facts. Our experiences in time past, people’s judgment, fear and other preconceptions are part of the sources of our facts in making many of our assumptions. All of these have the tendency to supply changeable facts, and therefore lead to wrong assumptions.
So, be careful of the assumptions you make about people, places and opportunities. Be sincere to separate your assumptions from ascertained truths. Train yourself to act based on the truth and not on assumptions. If you have to present your case on the basis of an assumption, let people know that it is an assumption and not an immutable truth. This accords you integrity in the long run.
