1 Kings 11:3-4 | NKJV
… His wives turned away his heart. For it was so, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the LORD his God, as was the heart of his father David.
Beloved,
It is true that the heart of a man is desperately wicked. The people who eventually turned the heart of Solomon away were his wives. Does it mean they changed overnight? It seems to me that they had that mission from the inception of their relationship with Solomon. Regardless of how long they were in marriage with him, and what he did for them in all those years, they did not change their mind. He must have thought they were truly in love with him but never knew that it was a wrong assumption.
Be careful of people who draw closer to you with their mouth but whose hearts are far from you. The nature of this kind of person is that no matter the year with which they have been with you, they rarely change their mind from the evil they have set out to do.
So, be very choosy of people you allow to your inner chamber, and regularly team up with the Holy Spirit to do a spiritual scan of people you surround yourself with.
Men are the best physical gifts God can give you, but at the same, the worst enemies you could ever have. So, be alert and be careful!
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
