John 6:5-9 NLT
“… Turning to Philip, he asked, ‘Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?’ He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do. Philip replied, ‘Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!’
Beloved,
In this text, we see Phillip and other disciples were with Jesus when they found out they were faced with a grand problem. Philip’s first thought was natural: we need money to solve this problem, but we don’t have enough, and we wouldn’t even if we worked for months! Meanwhile, the son of God was right there with a supernatural answer already in mind, one He hoped His disciples might tap into. It’s very easy to form the habit of treating supernatural problems with natural solutions. The carnal standard of this world makes it easy to forget or even to live life unaware of the truth that it is the supernatural or spiritual world, along with its principles and operations, that governs our natural experiences. We must make it a habit to live a spiritual life. This way when problems arise, we are not caught unaware.
We have enjoyed divine communication that has given us supernatural foresight, insight, divine equipment, and every advantage we need to stay at least one step ahead of the devil and on time with the destiny God designed us for. In this series, we will study this supernatural formula: Belief + Understanding + Authority = Believer’s Authority. The believer’s authority is the only measure by which any sincere believer can effectively solve problems. Let me begin with a gentle reminder that nothing happens naturally that is not first provoked spiritually. During the next few days, we will unpack these three essential problem-solving components and how they must work together to proffer spiritual solutions and influence.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
