Matthew 13:44 NKJV
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Beloved,
God’s kingdom is great, indeed. And it is profitable. Yet, many do not know about it or have not realized how profitable it will be for them to have stake in it. The church must do a better job of telling the world about the kingdom of our great God.
I remember going into a store recently and seeing a health product that seemed too good to be true. I put it in my cart, but my mind was that I might let the cashier know I wasn’t interested when I got to the register. As I was in line, the man behind me saw the product and started singing its praises. “This product is so good. I was thinking about not getting the product when I first saw it last week, but the price was too good to be true and all I could think was, ‘I hit the jackpot! I found a treasure!’”. He was so excited and went on to tell me all its benefits.
The cashier, a young man, noticed and joined the conversation. “I’ve been seeing everyone buy these lately. What’s funny is that it’s not a new product. More people are buying it because a few people found it and recognized its value. As soon as I’m on my break, I might to try it out, too. I can’t believe our store kept it hidden so long. It’s like all the big brands were overshadowing it. But this might be better, with the way people are talking.”
We see in this story people who discovered something good and didn’t keep quiet about it. The more they talked about it, the more people know and that caused a domino effect. Better than any product is what we have as Christian’s and we must be passionately tell the world about the treasure we have found. The church has a responsibility of demonstrating the message of the profitability of God’s kingdom that it might be established all over the earth.
In this world of darkness, it’s time for people to know what is better. It’s time for the church to rise up. We will talk more about His church next time.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
