DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Isaiah‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭20‬
“If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Beloved,

The only difference between the promises of God for man and God’s covenant with man is…. man. Apostle Paul expresses it perfectly here:

1 Corinthians 1:20

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”

Note that is says, “…the promises of God IN HIM…” In other words, it is possible for creatures on both sides of eternity to make and reference promises that are not from Him at all. You must be able to distinguish that which is of Spirit of God and that which is of darkness. Another version says it like this:

1 Corinthians 1:19-20 NLT
“For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.”

God’s promises are sure. He cannot and will not lie. King David enjoyed this revelation early on as evidenced by this testimony of confidence:

Psalm 138:2
“I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your loving kindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.”

If The Lord has spoken it, know that it has already taken place, for He is passionately committed to His Word. His promises are confirmed by His character. Our covenant with Him requires His faithfulness and commitment to us, yes. It also involves our ability to trust and obey Him. Take your time to examine your obedience. Are you always ready to receive instruction? How intentional are you about your relationship with Jesus. May God Almighty give you the grace to.

I commend you to God and to the Word of His Grace. I call you BLESSED and NATIONS.
