Acts 7:23, 25 MSG
When he was forty years old, he wondered how everything was going with his Hebrew kin and went out to look things over. He saw an Egyptian abusing one of them and stepped in, avenging his underdog brother by knocking the Egyptian flat. He thought his brothers would be glad that he was on their side, and even see him as an instrument of God to deliver them. But they didn’t see it that way.
Beloved,
We will always deal with the concept of identity, and you must get it right from the beginning. So must the people you are sent to. As seen in the scripture above, you may seek to help people, but they can misinterpret your intentions which can lead to issues. Some people’s problems started because of a misunderstanding of identity.
Remember and pay attention to the following:
- Take control of only what you have control over.
- Understand your own identity properly.
- Know who you are in the spirit.
- Live who you are. Many people are confused and are looking for who to confuse. Confusion is darkness so you must know your identity in God and in destiny.
- Educate people about who you are. This will make it easy for you to play your role in their lives and for them to receive you.
When Daniel and his mates got to Babylon, their names were changed. The goal was to change their identities to reflect the culture they have been brought into. But these four Hebrew lads were so comfortable in their identities and it was so ingrained in them that they never let go of who they were. This predicated their success in a strange land. Don’t let anyone change you. In John 1:19-23, John the Baptist was asked four iterations of the same question by those seeking to know who he was. He knew who he wasn’t, and he was bold enough to declare it.
The devil is going after people’s identity like never before. Beloved, trust God for the revelation of your identity, ask God to help the people you are sent to also to know and receive you in your true identity.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
