Daniel 9:2-3
In the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes.
Beloved,
If an attack of the devil comes, don’t just rush to pray. You may have been doing this in the past but train yourself to understand what you are dealing with through the help of the Holy Spirit, so that you can know the right strategy to deal with that situation.
Daniel, in seeking to find out why the Israelites were in bondage for so long, set himself to study and when he found out the reason, his prayer changed accordingly; he knew what to pray for (Daniel 9:1-3).
Many times, we don’t pray with understanding. This strategy will help you greatly in the place of prayer – any time any crisis comes up, the first thing is that you pray in the Spirit if you know how to pray in the Spirit or you thank God over that situation. The goal of the first prayer that you are praying is to get a word from God. You are seeking to know from God what you should pray for. So, when you are going through anything, depending on the magnitude of the crisis and the time allotted to the crisis, take your time to pray in the Spirit. What I personally do in the face of most crises is to thank God and to sleep, most certainly not the sleep of laziness or irresponsibility. I am searching in my spirit what the Lord would have me do over that matter.
When we pray in the Spirit, He gives us the strategy: pray this way, do this, do that. This is how our prayer life will be effective. When we pray out of ignorance, we will be praying amiss, and the devil likes it when we do that.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
