It is the Lord who orchestrates divine appearances. Divine appearances births revelation about what has happened, what is happening, and what is about to happen. It brings you information that will last you throughout your life, Jeremiah 31:3. It brings affirmation, intervention, (Genesis 28:13-14) and glory (Leviticus 9:6).
Means of experiencing divine appearances are:
- Through the word; the Bible, the written word of God – this is the safest way for you.
- Expect divine appearances through your dreams.
- Through divine perception, Judges 6:22. Make your perception clearer and more accurate by praying in the spirit.
How do you respond to divine appearances?
- Give attention to divine appearance.
- Yield quickly. Respond, don’t react.
- Live ready, because it will come when you least expect it.
- Build a memorial, an altar around divine appearances, Genesis 12:7-8, 26:24-25.
- Build upon your encounter with divine appearances, Luke 2:15, 2 Chronicles 3:1.
How do you ensure you enjoy divine appearances?
- Develop your sensitivity, Genesis 28:15-16. You do this by hearing the word of God.
- Have a hunger and an expectation, Judges 13:8-12.
- Create an atmosphere that is conducive for divine appearances, Psalm 132:2-8.
- Sacrifice – time, worship, your life, Leviticus 9:3-4.
- Keep the watch night hours, 2 Chronicles 7:12.
- Get rid of attitudes that restricts divine appearances in your life. These include:
- Disdainful attitude
- Dishonor
- Laziness
- Spiritual dumbness
- Flesh
- Disdainful attitude
