Psalm 74:12
For God is my King from of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.
Beloved,
One of the things that make unbelievers to run after anything called a god is the claim that the supposed supernatural being can save them. This expectation is not different from the expectation that believers in Christ has about God. Amidst many other reasons why we worship and serve God, we do so because we know that He is able to save us to the uttermost.
Occasionally, we forget or doubt His ability to save because what we are going through can be sometimes so overwhelming that we lose sight of the magnificence of our God when we consider the magnitude of our problem.
Today’s devotion is to remind us that God is at work. He is working out your salvation to bring you out of the mess you may have found yourself at the moment. Imagine that a student whose father is a millionaire has a need of $1,000 to pay for something in the pursuit of his academics. You will agree with me that the threat of that need can only keep existing until he gets through to his father. If he can succeed in putting a call through to his father and his father tells him that he is sending the money, you will see the countenance of the student change because although the money is not in his account, knowing the integrity of his father, he knows that the need is about to expire.
In like manner, let the understanding of the fact that the Lord is working out something lighten your countenance. He will surely come through for you.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
