Judges 11:1-6 NKJV
Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor, but he was the son of a harlot; and Gilead begot Jephthah. [2] Gilead’s wife bore sons; and when his wife’s sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out, and said to him, “are They shall have no inheritance in our father’s house, for you are the son of another woman.” [3] Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and dwelt in the land of Tob; and worthless men banded together with Jephthah and went out raiding with him. [4] It came to pass after a time that the people of Ammon made war against Israel. [5] And so it was, when the people of Ammon made war against Israel, that the elders of Gilead went to get Jephthah from the land of Tob. [6] Then they said to Jephthah, “Come and be our commander, that we may fight against the people of Ammon.”
Beloved,
Life can be hard at times. It can be especially hard for those with critical destinies to fulfill and those who major spiritual forces are working against. When life gets like this, it can be tempting to quit and feel like no one cares or no one is helping you. The first thing you must know is that God knows. He sees, hears, and knows. Most importantly, He cares. So, keep it in your mind that you are never alone.
The next thing you must know is that life does not just give you what you deserve. It can only give you what you demand. Everything and everyone seemed to be working against Jephthah, but he had a destiny to fulfill. Beloved, if no one is helping you, can you at least help yourself? Your life is and should be in God’s hands, not the hands of another man. Do not waste your time and your feelings worrying and pitying yourself, thinking about who is not helping you nor feel down that life is not working for you. You must know that God knows your struggle and He cares. He is with you and He has made available everything you need to live your best life in Him and accomplish His will on the earth as He has called you to do so. In these series, we will go through some of the things you must gain mastery of to help yourself.
I commend you to God and the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
