Romans 4:21
21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform
In continuing with our examination of the mystery of faith, we will look at the word persuasion. Persuasion, as a noun means the action or fact of persuading someone or of being persuaded to do or believe something. It is also defined as a belief or set of beliefs, especially religious or political ones. In Romans 4:21 Apostle Paul declares “I am fully persuaded”. And Jesus in Mark 5:36 told the ruler of the synagogue to keep believing and not to be distracted by the people. In other words, Jesus told the man to stay on with Him, not pay attention to what the people were saying, and not to switch off the system of belief.
In practicing faith, persuasion is powerful! Some factors that are constantly contending with your persuasion are doubt and fear. Doubt is one of the most effective ways satan introduces alternative information to your heart. He will not ask you to stop believing, rather he will stylishly ask you to consider the alternative, causing you to question what you believe. When a man begins to ask, “what if”, his attention will be diverted due to distractions. And with distraction his concentration power will be diffused. At this point, one’s guard is down, and the next thing is for Satan to attack one with fear.
On the other hand, Satan uses doubt to introduce fear. Doubt brings double mindedness which escalates into fear, worry and swinging and instability in one’s heart. Fear brings confusion and paralyzes one. At this point, it is easy to consider something one might not consider with a clear and stable mind. Hence, such will become more prone to mistakes, errors or quitting. If you want your faith to last and to be productive, you must be well persuaded about what you believe and trust God for.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
