A door is meant to give access. It connects one place to another. A door can introduce us to a new experience. Passing through a door may connote a new chapter of one’s life. In today’s world, there are different kinds of doors. For example, a metal detector door will allow some people to walk through while it will debar some. Hence, everyone who wants to pass through a door must understand the peculiarities of the door and the requirement to pass through.
When Jesus says that He is the door of the sheep, it means there are certain characteristics required of everyone to obtain access through Jesus. It also means that Jesus connects us to God and leads us into higher life. Jesus gives us a new and fulfilling experience that we cannot get from anywhere else. Going through Jesus guarantees eternal life. After we give our lives to Jesus, we must expect a life of joy, peace and righteousness. In addition, our lifestyle and perception of life must be different after we give our lives to Jesus.
It is disheartening to note that many so-called Christians have not passed through the door that Jesus Christ represents. Many are relating with Jesus from the outside and they are worshiping from afar. They are too proud to learn obedience, and not humble enough to become a sheep. I encourage you to obtain
access through Jesus today. Get rid of bitterness, unbelief, doubt and unforgiveness; things that cannot pass through Jesus.
