Kingdom Pillars XIX: Holy Spirit
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you”
John 14:16-17
Beloved,
The Holy Spirit is the promise of God for our lives. Jesus sent Him to be both our very present help, and our assurance or proof that indeed our Heavenly Father is always with us. After eternal life, the Holy Spirit is the greatest gift Jesus has given to us who are His disciples (John 14:25-26).
Another pillar we will talk about very soon is the church as pillar. But first we must establish the Holy Spirit’s role in qualifying God’s church as a pillar. The new testament church started with the arrival of the Holy Spirit. We see churches all around, but it is not every church that is His church. The Holy Spirit is the distinguishing factor. You as the temple of Christ must not only host the Holy Spirit; He must be an active force at work in your life.
Beloved, you must get to a place in life where you decide that you can do without the Holy Spirit. You must decide that without the Holy Spirit, you can do nothing. This is how to establish Him as a pillar in your life. This is what makes Him a great pillar in the kingdom of God. He is the empowerment that we need to fulfill our kingdom assignments on this side of eternity. The Bible says,
Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.
Luke 24:48-49
In other words, you must be willing to wait for Him before you make any critical decision or movement.
Without the Holy Spirit, you are living on your own effort and it’s not efficient. Don’t be among those people who have great callings and destiny, but lack the wisdom to wait on the Holy Spirit for power. You will dry yourself out before you fulfill destiny. Just like a child who wishes to ride a bike for the first time without help eventually falls; people who attempt to lead a spiritual life without the Holy Spirit eventually fail.
I implore you beloved, wait on the Holy Spirit. Even if you are anointed and have visions, wait until you are endowed with power that only comes from Him.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
