But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Beloved,
There are two ways you can hear the word of God, as a revelation and as repetition. Revelation brings excitement but repetition makes you to be grounded in the truth you have received.
Man is a spirit that has a soul and lives in a human body. Your soul is an intermediary between your spirit and your body. Before becoming born again your spirit was dead and your soul was subject to the influences coming from your spirit and your flesh. After you come to Christ and
your spirit gets quickened, your mind starts getting renewed and you start changing from glory to glory. You must keep your spirit stronger than the inclinations of the flesh so you can pull your soul and your flesh up lest the flesh drags your spirit down to its level.
The reason why many people are unable to break free from sin is because they focus on that sin and neglect the development of their spirit. Therefore, you must be committed to consistent growth for it is in your growth that your questions will be answered.
Beloved, you must also master the realm of the soul to your advantage. The mind contains emotions, thoughts, and intelligence. If your mind is renewed by the ministration of the Spirit and the Word, you will be able to tame your emotions. And because the state of your mind affects your thoughts, you will soon find that you are able to be in better control of your thoughts.
