DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

Pillars VIII: Recap

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
Hebrews 12:28

Beloved,

Grace is among the seven pillars and we will talk more about this in just a few episodes. Right now, we are just about halfway through this critical series. I want to make sure it is clearly impressed in your mind and heart that God’s kingdom everywhere is inevitable. The question is, will you be a part of it? Are you ready to do what it takes in order to take your place in His glorious kingdom?

Someone once said concerning me that the problem with my church is that we act like we are already in heaven. Well, I don’t know the extent of the person’s revelation of heaven’s glory. What I do know is that in Matthew 6, Jesus instructs us to pray for God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

As we read in our opening scripture and in a few other places in His word, it is God’s desire to give us the kingdom! He wants us to live and enjoy life in a manner that makes us invincible and unshakeable. Just as Jesus has shown us while He was here on earth, it is very possible to live life supernaturally on this side of eternity. In fact, if we will accomplish everything He has for us to do here, we will need this kind of advantage.

So far, we’ve discussed three of the seven pillars that make up God’s unshakable kingdom. If they are properly in place, they will make your life an unshakable one too.

I encourage you to start with the three pillars we have learned about so far:

1. Jesus: If you have not done so already, please, make Jesus your Lord, Savior, and firm foundation. He is the kingdom of God and the only way to heaven and the only means of bringing heaven to earth. (John 1:1-3, 14; John 14:6)
2. The word of God: You must be intentional about making the word of God your nourishment, your frame of reference, and the standard by which you live. Romans 8 tells us “worlds are framed by His word” (Romans 8:3). So must your world be if it will become unshakeable.
3. The Holy Spirit: Allow the Holy Spirit to bring order to your life. Commit your spirit into God’s hands and allow Him to do for you what your flesh and soul could never do alone (Psalm 31). Surrender to the Holy Spirit and let Him take full control of your life. He will illuminate God’s word for you. He will heal you, make you wholen and keep you that way. In other words, He will keep you in perfect peace; nothing you need for life and destiny will be missing or broken. He keeps those who yield to Him divinely supplied with everything needed for life and Godliness. As long as He is at work in you, there can never be a lack in your supply (Philippians 4:19).

Even if you have done all these things at some point in your life, check yourself again. In fact, do so daily. Make full assessment of your daily habits and motivations. How often do you study and confess God’s word? What is guiding you in life? What drives your decisions and where lies your priorities? Are you fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit or are you enslaved to sin and self?

Please note that your life is indeed your life. God created you with the privilege and ability to make choices. Beloved, you are always free to choose you! But at what cost? This choice means that your outcomes and impact can only go as far as your humanity. If you have ever found yourself in a situation that was beyond you, then you know that better results are contingent upon your relationship with someone greater, someone with more authority. Having those aforementioned pillars firmly planted in your life gives you the kingdom advantage and aptitude for kingdom impact. It is God’s kingdom at work in your life that qualifies you to be set apart apart and divinely exempted from destiny reducing agents and experiences.

Next time, we will introduce our fourth pillar. Until then,

I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
