Psalm 94:12-13 NKJV
[12] Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, And teach out of Your law, [13] That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.
Beloved,
One of the hardest parts of any pastor’s work is instructing and correcting their members as given to them by the Lord. It is disheartening to see how adults, regardless of how supposedly mature and learned they are, reject instructions and corrections. What makes it worse is when you see how their resistance to instructions and corrections is tearing their lives apart.
It occurred to me that many adults have a tendency to resist correction; it takes a deliberate effort not to be among those who do so. And one way to be delivered from that tendency is to understand why God sends correction to us.
The above verses of the scriptures establish that a man that God corrects must consider himself to be blessed because God’s correction is His way of keeping him from future troubles and giving him rest from the days of adversity.
Train yourself to respond correctly to correction and see how delighted you will be to God.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
