2 Samuel 6:7 NKJV
[7] Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.
Beloved,
Last time, we discussed some of the ways error can bring misery into the life of a man. Let us look at a few more just to be sure we can recognize the signs and adjust our lives accordingly before it is too late.
One of the things one must never do is use an error to correct an error for this in itself is a major error. Don’t find yourself among those who prefer to establish an entire doctrine based on failures in life! For example, you may have heard the story of Uzzah in the scripture. He touched something sacred that he lacked the qualifications to touch, and God struck him dead. This devastated David. He was troubled by the event. What if David now decided that God is bad and unfair because of that occurence rather than learning that Uzzah was in error?
An even better example is Jeroboam who used his authority to establish the error of preventing the Israelites from going to Jerusalem to worship God in the book of 1 Kings 12:4.
Another error that can lead to misery is removing the ancient landmarks. Although times have changed, God has not changed. He has put structures in place on purpose to keep us safe and set apart. The devil is very tricky, and he will allow you to think that bending the rules just a little will not make a difference. Let us hold fast to the things of God. Proverbs 22:28 NKJV says, Do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set.
Do not find yourself making these critical errors, lest your story be recorded as one of misery. Next time, we will discuss what to do when you find yourself in error.
Let Him have His way. He can never lead you astray!
I commend you to God and the word of His grace.
I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
