Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
The word “relevance” has been boldly written on my mind recently. I found out that our “market value” on the earth is largely traceable to our relevance wherever we find ourselves. Your company hired you because of your relevance to them; they do not keep you because you used to be relevant but because you are still relevant. You can guess what happens the day they feel you are no longer relevant.
Many friendships are at the verge of collapse because of the problem of relevance. The truth of the matter is that successful people do not keep relationships just because they have been childhood friends, they keep the relationships that are relevant to them.
If I will continue to be a part of your life, I have the responsibility to be consistently relevant in your life. As a pastor, I have to STUDY to show myself approved (relevant). As a career man, you need to be deliberate and intentional in keeping your market value (relevance) with your employer. As a wife, you should not just let your husband keep you in your matrimonial home just because it is compulsory BUT because you are relevant to his vision and family pursuit. As my friend, don’t let me keep you on my friends’ list, dormant; be intentionally relevant as I put every effort to be relevant to you as well.
