Mark 8:18,21 NKJV
[18]…And do you not remember? [21]…”How is it you do not understand?”
Beloved,
God sternly warned the Israelites to always remember. They were to remember the Lord their God, remember to keep the Sabbath holy, remember how He brought them out of Egypt and so on. While Jesus was instructing us about how to live in this end time, he asked us to remember Lot’s wife.
Remembrance is a powerful tool in grounding ourselves in our beliefs and in standing firm while patiently waiting on God for the fulfillment of His promises. The above scripture established that if you can remember, you will surely understand. If you are finding it difficult to understand, it could be that you need to remember some things.
Now, we need to understand that remembering the right things for most people is not automatic. It really takes a discipline to do so, especially at the hint of adversity or pleasure.
To develop a right attitude of remembering right things, Mark 8:17-18 gives us some hints:
- Do not harden your mind. In other words, have an open mind to learn.
- Take your eyes off the negatives, and deliberately put it on the word of God.
- Bring your regenerated heart to analyze your life.
- Engage in the art of meditation that would stir you to hear what the spirit is saying. Remember that one major assignment of the Holy Spirit is to remind us of all things (John 14:26).
When you practice these steps, you will be able to remember and then understand what you ought to understand.
This is your best day ever.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
