Joshua 24:14 NKJV
“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord!
Beloved,
One of the most difficult things to get believers of our days into is serving the Lord. The church is full of believers who claim to be born again but have nothing they are doing as a service to God.
How would you claim that someone is your “Lord” and you will not serve Him? This is one puzzle that my generation has made extremely difficult to solve.
Joshua used few verses before the verse quoted above to state how God made the Israelites to take possession of what they did not labor for. Then he used the verse quoted above to charge them to serve the Lord as a response to God’s commitment to them.
Beloved, if God has ever been faithful, you owe Him your service. It is a sign of dishonor and an act of irresponsibility to be in the kingdom without serving the Lord. I’m sure no normal parent will take pride in having a 10 year old son who takes no responsibility in their home. In like manner, it’s painful seeing a child of God that has no service in Zion.
Today, as Joshua did, I’m challenging you to serve the Lord; not just anyhow but in sincerity and truth. Let the Lord be happy for your addition to the kingdom.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
