1 Timothy 4:16 NKJV
Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
Beloved,
You must take care of yourself. You are both the gate and the gatekeeper of your life. Therefore, you must be aware of what is entering and leaving your life. You must disallow the entrance of some things into your life and consciously invite some other things in.
It is important to know that you are a tripartite being: a spirit, that has a soul, and lives in a body. When one of these parts of your being is not up to par, the fulfillment of your destiny will be in peril. It is therefore your responsibility to take care of your spirit, soul, and body. You are responsible for keeping yourself from the the attack of the enemy (2 Chronicles 14:2, 6-7), the pollution of the flesh and lusts.
It is important that you take heed to yourself so that your heart will not be weighed down, Luke 21:34. This also ensures that you will not fall away in this last days and keeps you covenant compliant.
Let’s look at some things to do to take heed to yourself:
- Keep your heart diligently, Proverbs 4:23. Do not let any polluting influence tamper with your heart.
- Deal with areas of your life you are sensitive about. Let the word of God deal with your weaknesses, fears, and hurts.
- Fortify your life with the word of God, His covenants with you, destiny/healthy relationships, and a good lifestyle.
- Avoid malnutrition of the spirit, soul, and body. Also avoid undue pressure, weakness, and brokenness on your tripartite being.
- Let God and His kingdom be your reasons for living. Let this be reflected in every of your pursuit.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
