Proverb 23:13-14
13 Do not withhold correction from a child,
For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
14 You shall beat him with a rod,
And deliver his soul from [a]hell.
The bible encourages us to train our children consciously. As parents, we are to rise up to the task. We cannot afford to shy away from it. The art of raising and training children is a higher calling. Every parent must yield to this calling. God entrusts the children to us and He will ask about how well we do and will reward us accordingly.
From years of relating with parents, I realized some parents prefer to be friends to their children instead of being disciplinarians. The right relationship should be established with children in order to position them well to receive instruction and guidance.
It can be challenging to discipline our children. Sometimes, it gets discouraging, especially when children are not responding appropriately. In such instance, one may need to engage another strategy as appropriate. Children must continue to receive instruction and guidance from their parents. In like manner, parents must receive from God.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
