Genesis 1:1-2
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Beloved,
If the new year seems without form and void to you, it is your responsibility and wisdom to begin to fill it with the right things. If you don’t harness and give direction to vital things of life, they will end up taking charge of your life, and your year may end up unproductive.
So, what are those things that you must harness in the coming year? Harness your emotions. Don’t allow your emotions to determine your actions. Emotions are very powerful and if not properly channeled, they can be the greatest assassin of destiny. It is important to know that your emotions are not for direction; they are for information. Your renewed spirit should give directions.
Consider the emotion of anger for example. No one wants to keep saying sorry because they keep messing up. If you have to keep apologizing for your outbursts, then it means you have not gained control over the emotion of anger.
What are the default directions your emotions want take you?
- Your emotions will naturally go in the direction of what you like.
- Your emotion will go after what hurts you.
- Your emotions wants to go after what is not yours.
But where must you direct your emotions in 2023?
- Towards God and the things of God.
- Let your godly decisions give directions to your emotions.
- Direct your emotions to your spouse.
- Direct it to your work.
- Direct your emotions to the pursuit of destiny.
- Direct your emotions to learning.
Beloved, Proverbs 12:27 (TPT) says that a passionate person will make good use of his time, wealth, and energy. Consciously harness and redirect your emotions and passion to things that are beneficial in 2023 and you will see and enjoy the reward of this obedience.
