1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV
pray without ceasing,
Warning Against Prayerlessness
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV
pray without ceasing,
Beloved,
When you don’t pray, you are cheating yourself of the victory that is in the future. Your prayerlessness is not about today, it is about your future which the devil is targeting. Each time God wants to do something, he first moves men into prayer. If you don’t have a burden to pray, that means there is nothing significant awaiting you in your immediate future. But when you see God moving you into prayer then it means God is up to something in your future; and your future could be five minutes from now, or five years from now.
So, when you don’t pray, you are cheating yourself of the power that is made available for you as a believer. If you don’t pray today, you may go out and return home safely. Your today is guaranteed but what is not guaranteed when you don’t pray today is the future.
There are days when you feel the burden to pray and you do, yet things seem to go wrong for you that day. Other days, you don’t even pray as much, yet you experience all kinds of favor and good tidings. The enemy may come to tell you that because of such experiences, you can
conclude that there’s no reason to pray at all or pray that hard. What you don’t know however is that for the most part, the prayers you prayed in the past brought about those good days and good experiences you are having in your life right now. Each time the devil convinces you that good things will keep happening to you regardless of if you pray or not, he is cheating you of the victory that is waiting for you tomorrow. Therefore beloved, don’t let the devil rob you of your future victory because of your prayerlessness today.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
