Where to Find Right Counsel
Though good advice lies deep within the heart,
a person with understanding will draw it out.
Proverbs 20:5
Beloved,
One of the best ways to easily waste your time and energy is by trying to figure out life and all its mysteries all by yourself. I have a saying: “Life is too short to be used for experiments”. Trial and error is a great way to learn, but it is also a very costly route. To reduce the errors you make in life, you need right counsel.
We live in the era of information. The youngest of children knows how to ask Siri and Google everything they want to know about life. Artificial intelligence is capable of recognizing sequences and patterns and scraping together data necessary to help people carry out tasks and make decisions. But even such technology has its limits.
Counsel is everywhere, but right counsel is tucked away in very specific places, kept safe until those who are wise enough and favored enough come to draw it out. In this series, we will look at where to find right counsel.
The very first place you should look for right counsel is in the word of God. I pray you are enjoying these devotionals? But, the day you read any of these and you cannot trace it back to the word of God is the day I will advise you to stop reading them. Luke, the evangelist declared the following:
For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
Luke 20:27
And, I declare the same. No advisement on earth is as safe and sound as the one that is rooted and found in the word of God. Proverbs 19:21 says this:
There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21
The counsel of God is to be carried out. It is what stands and it is His Word that was , is, and will last until the end of time. Seek His word and the counsel that comes from it.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
