Acts 2:6,12 NKJV
And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”
Beloved,
The state of doubt is a terrible place to abide in life, especially if you desire to live by faith. Faith requires a heart that fully believes and trusts in God beyond a shadow of doubt. Doubt, will arise from time to time, yes. But when it does, do something about it. You must not stay there. If you do, doubt will transition from a state of mind, to a matter of the heart. When that happens, you will have officially transitioned into the state of unbelief. Such a heart can’t sustain faith because it does not trust or believe God’s word.
There will be times that even as a believer, you will face perplexing situations in life. You will find yourself in that place of doubt. At that point, don’t give your own interpretation to the matter, nor should you make assumptions. The devil will already have too much room to supply you with understanding at that point. Rather trust God to give you the correct interpretation of that situation through His word so you know how to benefit the most from it. Learn from this man who found himself moving from doubt to unbelief:
Mark 9:23-25 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”
Ask God to keep you from unbelief or your faith will not stand a chance! If you cannot hear what God is saying about the matter and in accordance with His word, you need someone ordained by God to supply you with spiritual understanding and intelligence. We will talk more on this next time.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
