Psalm 74:9 NLT
“We no longer see your miraculous signs. All the prophets are gone, and no one can tell us when it will end.”
Beloved,
As you can see, signs are such an advantage to the people of God. You can tell from the scripture above that the Psalmist was not okay with the experience of no longer enjoying the miraculous signs God once made available to them. But how did they get to that point? Why do some people not see their signs? Let’s look at a few of the reasons now:
- Lack of alignment: When you are out of alignment with the prophetic voice in your life, you risk missing important instructions that might be required for your prophecy. You miss directions on how to access the signs concerning your prophecies, breakthroughs or miracles. If this is you, I challenge you to go back to the last instruction God has given you. Go back to your prophecy and get back in line. The devil loves to find every way possible to get you out of alignment. You cannot allow him to succeed.
- Sign Envy: When you place more value on the signs of others than you do on yours, you will miss out! What is a sign or signal for one person might look totally different from your own. The move of God looks different in the life of every man. Don’t get confused! Don’t miss the move of God for your life because you think it should look like someone else’s.
- Negligence: You may have gotten used to certain signs and decided to prioritize something else. Maybe you know that if your hands start shaking, God needs you to start praying. But you got a report from the doctor that you may have arthritis or something similar. You decide to ignore the shaky hands until the doctor’s report is confirmed. You neglect the place of prayer God is calling you to by invariably stating that your natural experience should take priority over the supernatural sign He has given you. Don’t neglect what God requires of you. If you do, it’s a matter of time before you don’t see those signs again.
- Insensitivity: this is different from negligence in that you are not dismissing your signs out rightly; you just don’t even sense that they are there! You’re too carnal. This can happen to us so easily in this world. Dullness of perception we call it. Spiritual things in our lives are drowned out by the cares of this life and the ways of the world. We have to be careful! It can even be that you perceive the sign quite well, but you don’t sense the urgency God has placed on it. You think you can follow up tomorrow.
