1 Kings 17:14
For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’
Beloved,
In your worship of God, you don’t have to be eloquent, you don’t have to be a writer, you don’t have to have all those special qualities that you may think are for worshippers. Simple statements, simple declarations could be acts of worship to the Lord.
When you worship God, you download divine things; you download instructions, visions, deliverances, and provisions that are beyond man. The woman in our reference text worshipped God with what she had, her food and water. So, worshipping God is not only about songs. It is how willing we are to sacrifice what we have for the use of God; it is also how we spend our time.
Offering an acceptable worship is a command, and it must be obeyed. Worshipping brings you to a place of submitting to God to obey Him. In worshiping, you must pay attention to God. You can’t be worshipping and be distracted with other things. Therefore, we advocate closing our eyes in a corporate setting in the local church when worshipping. Closing our eyes while worshipping helps to deal with physical distractions. It is not about the many things that we attach to worship such as having musical instruments to accompany the songs we sing; it is about worshiping in spirit and in truth.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
