Mark 1:17-18, TPT
17 and said to them, “Come follow me and I will transform you into men who catch people instead of fish!” 18 Immediately they dropped their nets and left everything behind to follow Jesus.
Beloved,
What are you ready to give up for the sake of the unique calling God had placed upon your life? For these disciples, the scripture says that they dropped their nets immediately and left everything to follow Him. They didn’t procrastinate or hold anything back. They did not use any excuse, no matter how legitimate, in order to stall in responding to the demand of God that was placed on their lives. They were not foolish to think they could just reply at their convenience or in a manner that felt comfortable. They just obeyed.
This is the attitude we must carry when it comes to making the most of our salvation and becoming everything that salvation was designed to get us ready for. God did not sacrifice His Son to save us without cause, after all. He wants to train you and prepare you for a higher level of life and all the perks that come with it. I challenge you to strongly consider the following two questions: What have you willingly left since the time you met Christ? How long did it take you to let go? These are the true tests of true encounter with Christ. These are all the proof you need of genuine followership of Jesus.
Beloved, if your Christianity does not take anything from you, it means that it is not transforming, and any Christianity that is not transforming is fake.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
