Genesis 37:9
Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”
Genesis 39:11-12
But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand, and fled and ran outside.
We usually think that separation is bad, however, there is a place for it in life. Joseph was separated from his brothers so that he could develop a healthy identity that could support his destiny.
In the same vein, David was divinely placed to stay with the sheep so that his vision and heart could be preserved. If he had stayed with his brothers, he may not have developed the skills and the heart that distinguished him for the throne.
To be a man of the future, God has a way of separating us from situation or people that may stand in the way or prevent us from cooperating with God. However, sometimes we walk away from God’s divine arrangements because we don’t understand what God is doing.
A man that will be relevant in the future must accept and enjoy divine separation. He must be comfortable with where God places him. Like David, he must be comfortable to be in the field while others are at home enjoying the delicacies of the father. While Jesse was recommending and parading the brothers before Samuel, David was qualifying himself.
In order to be a man of the future, will you cooperate with God and stay in your place of preparation and training?
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
