DO NOT YIELD – Part 5: From Sin’s Grip to God’s Grace

1 Thessalonians 5:23

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your
whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Beloved,
Understand that everyone had devils in them before they entered into a relationship with Jesus. But upon receiving Jesus as Savior, some of those demons left automatically just like cockroaches run to hide when you switch on the light. Yet, some other devils require deliverance by casting out, while require deliverance by knowledge of the truth. In addition to
all these, the following are practical steps to renewing the mind.
 Constant confession of the word. A doctor will prescribe you a medication to treat an ailment and he will ask that you take that medicine for a number of days. In the same manner, put yourself on a diet of the word of God by finding the appropriate scripture relevant to your need and subjecting it to daily dosage within a pre-determined time frame (3, 7, 14 days, etc.).
 Apologize. The Holy Spirit is faithful to pinch you whenever you are wrong or whenever you have contributed to a backslide, just as He did with Cain in Genesis 4:6-7. In most  cases, it is not regret over the act itself but our response to the correction of the Holy Spirit and our yieldedness that makes the difference to God.
 Pray in the spirit constantly. Put your object of contention before your mind and pray in the spirit for that person, that need, over that situation or circumstance.
 Be accountable to trusted persons. When you discover that you have certain tendencies – it could be generational, it helps to have trusted people around who can help recognize and help you guide against them.
 Buy a gift and/or pray for the object of your disfavor. This particularly applies to situations where you are in conflict with someone, and your mind is agitated and disturbed because of that conflict. Buying that fellow a gift has a way of introducing peace and calmness to your spirit and it places you in the person’s good books. Praying for them ensures you release them from your mind.

I commend you to God and the word of His grace.

I call you NATIONS. I call you blessed.
