The Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit was present in the beginning, brooding over the waters, until the word of God went forth (Genesis 1:2) and He was activated to begin putting things in order. As we discussed last time, the Holy Spirit is the pillar of God’s Kingdom that establishes order. Today, I submit to you, in accordance with God’s word, that not only does He establish order, He keeps things in order.
In our church, God gave us a word to confess from Psalm 31 that we “commit our souls unto His Spirit”. Those who don’t know better may think that this verse is about death. They might be partially correct in that the verse is about choosing to die to self in full surrender to His sweet Holy Spirit. When you choose to fully surrender to the Holy Spirit, He keeps you in perfect peace. He keeps you in order and in step with His will and His way.
The Holy Spirit checks everyone who yields to Him. As long as He can correct you, you are safe. Don’t let the devil trick you into being pacified with validation from peers or accomplishments alone. You want to be sure your life is ordered and approved by the Spirit of God.
The devil will like to help you feel okay with disorder. Please know that any time you feel okay though your spiritual life is in disarray, it’s the devil making you complacent. Ensure you create room for the Holy Spirit to work in you and commit your soul unto His Spirit. He will keep you eternally.
