Luke 9:55 KJV
But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Beloved,
What is the power and substance that a born again spirit carries? Do you know what it means to leave all to follow God or what happens to your spirit once you begin to relate with God? One of the ways the devil deceives men is to propagate the belief that all spirits are the same. The truth remains that a spirit that is not born again is without life in comparison to a born again spirit that is living in Christ. This is why you must seek to develop your spirit and awareness to a level where you are not susceptible to strange spirits around you. If you do not know the value of your born again spirit, you will soon exchange it for something lesser. To prevent this, you need to understand the advantages that your born again spirit confers.
- The born again Spirit is a quickened spirit, Colossians 2:13. More than the impact of defibrillating a heart or jumpstarting a car, the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross revived our spirit from death; it restored the relationship between God and man. Every man, though living in the flesh, has a dead spirit which is unable to communicate with the Spirit of God until he receives the gift of salvation. The Spirit of a man only comes alive after an encounter with God’s Spirit.
- The born again spirit has been raised from sin and can now discern good from evil. Without Christ, a man may be unable to recognize certain things as wrong or be unable to resist them. When you become born again, you are more aware of the difference between right and wrong, and are better equipped to say no to ungodliness, Titus 2:12.
- The born again spirit is infused with the nature of God’s spirit; hence, it is enabled to relate and operate as a god, Psalm 82:6.
- It is a life-giving spirit, 1 Corinthians 15:45. It is a potential every believer must utilize to carry on the ministry of Jesus on the earth in greater measures.
We will talk more about these next time.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
