Galatians 5:16-18 NKJV
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Beloved,
After we become born again, our spirit comes alive. From there on, there is a new life to live and there is a clear path marked out by God that a believer must begin to walk on, Ephesians 2:10. Galatians 5:16 makes us understand that you can choose to walk in the Spirit or in the flesh. Carrying out the desires of the flesh is natural and comes easy to a carnal man; the only way to not do so is by walking in the Spirit.
A good question you must supply an answer to is this: how often do you commit your ways to the Holy Spirit to seek His opinion and input on every matter? As a genuine child of God, you must get to the point where you ask the Holy Spirit about all areas of your life. If you run everything by Him, you will not make critical mistakes that could have been avoided. Determine that until you get the Holy Spirit’s clear instructions on a matter, you will not take a step, no matter the pressure.
You must understand that the journey of life will be very difficult to live alone if you do not actively involve the Holy Spirit in your affairs. You can do much more with the Holy Spirit than you can alone. Decide that no matter the pressure, you will wait to hear from God before you move. If Saul the king had this mindset, he would not have lost the kingdom that God gave him. Don’t let the devil succeed to get you by haste. When the judgement came upon Saul, those who mounted pressure on him were nowhere to be found.
Run things by the Holy Spirit, He will tell you what to do. If you receive opinion or instructions from people, check, and verify their results in life and who they are in destiny first; vet their opinions by your regenerated mind and the help of the Holy Spirit. If what they advise is approved of God, then you may follow their suggestions. In every matter, let the Holy Spirit have the final say. Most importantly, walk in the Spirit relentlessly.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
