Ecclesiastes 1:14
I have seen all the works which have been done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and striving after wind.
1 Corinthians 2:10
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
Some friends and I are studying the book of Exodus and it caught my attention in chapter 8 when Moses asked Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go or frogs would come out of the Nile to disturb the land. It occurred to me that Pharaoh was unbothered by it. All he did was instruct his own magicians to do the same according to Exodus 8:7. But only a verse later, we see Pharaoh calling Moses and Aaron to make it stop. The afflictions the frogs were causing were seriously overwhelming their land.
When Moses originally cautioned Pharaoh about the plague of frogs that was to come out of the Nile River. he likely thought, “I have been around this river my whole life. I know for a fact, there couldn’t possibly be that many frogs that will manifest…”. Hence, he even instructed his magicians to do the same. Before he realized it, the frogs were more than he or his land could bear. He never knew so many frogs existed in that same Nile he had known all his life.
Beloved, could it be that there are places and positions that are right in front of you that are actually capable of producing more than you ever imagined?
We see a similar example in the new testament:
Luke 5:4-6
“When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Push out into the deep water. Let down your nets for some fish.” 5 Simon said to Him, “Teacher, we have worked all night and we have caught nothing. But because You told me to, I will let the net down.” 6 When they had done this, they caught so many fish, their net started to break.”
Some historians say that the lake where they fished was peculiar because all the fish tended to gather in a particular part of the lake that Jesus happened to introduce them to. Imagine this, the same lake they fished in all night only to come out empty handed also gave them net breaking results later that night. Are there opportunities right in front of you? Jobs, your practicing license, education even relationships that you have limited, thinking this is the best this thing or situation can offer? But maybe there is more to explore. I want to encourage you to work with the Holy Spirit this following year. It is the covenant that you have with Christ that makes you limitless. Do not limit yourself. Give every situation and opportunity to God and see what He can help you to see. We will talk more on this tomorrow.
I commend you to God and the Word of His Grace.
I call you BLESSED and NATIONS.
