Luke 19:1-5
Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. 5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
Beloved,
Jesus came to bring restoration and redemption. He is able to add to our lives and to supplement any inadequacies. Jesus knows our infirmities. He was born, lived, crucified and resurrected to give us life in its fullness.
In the passage above, Zacchaeus was limited by his height and by the crowd. He heard that Jesus was passing by and positioned himself rightly by climbing a tree. I want to encourage you that God honors our sincerity and effort. Jesus saw Zacchaeus’ limitation and desire. His desire and effort made up for the limitations that he had.
Friend, do not allow your limitation to cut you off from Jesus. Rather, approach Jesus with your limitation. Jesus sees beyond what you see, and he can make up for what is not enough. Like Zacchaeus, you must identify your sycamore tree. Find it and use it in seeking God. What the Lord requires of you is that you seek Him with all of your heart and with all that you have.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
