I Kings 18:44 NKJV
“Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ””
God is always faithful to give you a sign that you can hold onto in your faith walk. This sign is what I call a faith lead. Whenever you are waiting on God for a miracle, don’t be carried away, looking for big things. It is your wisdom to be on the look out for that small thing that will lead you on. Remember, God hides himself in small things.
Elisha understood this principle about faith walk when he kept asking his servant to look out for an appearance of a cloud. Initially, the servant did not see anything that indicated the move of God. As long as nothing was seen, Elisha knew that there was no need to move. However, as soon as the servant reported seeing a small cloud, Elisha understood that it was time to spring into action.
God still works with us in similar fashion. He needs us to seek Him persistently until we see His fingers. Once we see a sign, that should be enough to carry us through the faith lane until the fulness of what we are waiting for comes to manifestation. If we disregard the move of God that appears as a small hand, we will not be able to move and we will miss the bigger things that God plans to do.
For someone looking for a job, a faith lead may be just a call from a recruiter after about six months of job search. Such must be recognized, acknowledged, and not be despised. As we rejoice over the little, we make room for the great.
I call you NATIONS.
