Proverbs 10:4
He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Beloved,
Today, I want to share the difference between “being” and “becoming.” What you must become is the endpoint of who you have been. Who you are being is what you are doing on a daily basis and this determines who you will become.
Let me explain it this way, what Joseph was to become was the prime minister of Egypt. However, he had to be a slave at Potiphar’s house and a prisoner at some points in his life. But that was not the end point. What he learned at those phases of his life played major roles in what he was being and what he was to become. The processes involved in being a slave and a prisoner shaped him to become the prime minister.
Gehazi became a traitor and useless servant in Elisha’s house while Esther became the queen at the King’s palace. My question to you today is, “what must you be so that you may become”? While David was being a man after God’s heart, his brothers were being a man God would reject. What they kept being eventually determined what they became. While David became the shepherd of the entire nation, his brothers became the servants of Saul.
May you find out what you must keep on being so that you may eventually become what you are here
on the earth to become.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
