Ephesians 4:8 NKJV
“Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”
Beloved,
Christianity is all about the birth, life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Christ. It’s because His entire life that we have the redemption experience. I want us to look at something in the book of 2 Timothy:
“…who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,” – II Timothy 1:9-10
Eternal life is our blessed assurance and a privilege we enjoy because Christ ascended on high. Christ gave us the gospel. The gospel is our legacy. It’s the good news- the light we are privileged to share with others about how Christ conquered death, hell, and the grave- abolishing it completely, and gifting us life, eternal. As if immortality and life with Christ forever is not enough, in addition to salvation and eternal life and the gift of the dwelling of His Holy Spirit, we enjoy calling according to His purpose on this side of eternity! What a privilege to partner with Christ in the things of destiny! The devil will want you to think you’re not qualified to parter with Christ to do anything. He will remind you of your sin. He will remind you of your limitations. Look at this scripture:
“And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” -Colossians 2:13-15
Everything that has been against you and your God-ordained destiny, Christ wiped it out! Beloved, Christ has disarmed everything that dares work against you with the work He did on the cross and with His ascension. We get everything God ever made available to us back! We recover all! Every handwriting against us, with His ascension was blotted out. We enjoy divine takeover!! We will talk more on this next time. Until then,
