“Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.”
Beloved,
Those of us who are believers in Christ Jesus are preparing to celebrate the greatest sacrifice known to man. Indeed, this is a critical season for enjoying the concentrated power of God made possible by His willingness to sacrifice Himself for our sins sake and make intercession for us. Imagine, we who were once mere dirt, are now opportune for life with Christ Jesus, His Son, forever!
We love to talk about the death of Christ. But the game changing work took place at ascension. The Bible says:
“Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men.” -Ephesians 4:8 NKJV
In this series, we will look at the gifts that were made available to all immediately He rose.
The first is glorious gift of salvation.
“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,” – I Corinthians 15:1-3 NKJV
The gift of your salvation is not limited to the day you confessed Christ as Lord and savior. Doing that one saved you from eternal hell. Your salvation is a gift you must take advantage of for all circumstances. Jesus Christ is your salvation. He is your way out and your way through. He has already redeemed you therefore nothing and no one can trap you or take your life from you. He is your refuge and strength. He is your very present help in times of trouble just as described by David in Psalm 46:1. Please, this resurrection season, take your time to acknowledge and enjoy Him as such. I commend you to God and the word of His grace. I call you BLESSED and NATIONS.
