Isaiah 49:13, NLT
“Sing for joy, O heavens! Rejoice, O earth! Burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion on them in their suffering.”
Beloved,
If you have been in church long enough, you know the power and potency of praise and worship. You have learned to sing for joy to God, our Strength. This is a gentle reminder that singing is not something you should do because you’re happy. Many of us would never sing if this was the case. The way things are going on the earth these days, it can look like there are not too many reasons to sing, at least not any happy tune.
Singing to God is something you must break into. You can’t wait to feel like it. There is a way you must force yourself to praise Him.
One of the ways you will break through is by genuine gratitude, the kind that manifests itself through singing and dancing. This gratitude begins with awareness that you have the victory and must eventually translate into an outward expression of thanksgiving for all to see in both the natural and spiritual realms. You must sing and dance to confuse your enemies. You sing and dance to defend your victory!
No matter what you are going through now, when you think of how God has kept you all this while, how He has comforted you, how you have been enjoying His passionate commitment over you, why won’t you give Him praise?
I have been telling my members something lately: complicated problems don’t always call for complicated solutions. Why can’t you just praise God through your circumstances and break forth? Rejoice! And again I say rejoice! I dare you!
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
