Beloved,
We have been discussing the importance of evaluating our paths and considering charting a new one as we step into another year. Today, we will look at some other important steps to take if you will chart a new course.
- Step out of the norm. To do this you can adopt the Abraham model. At age 75, he took the bold step of pursuing the vision that God gave to him. He would have received a lot of discouragement from people, but he chose to step out of the norm, to become unpopular. In the long run, Abraham became the patriarch of the nation of Israel and the progenitor of our Lord because of his obedience and his choice to do the unpopular.
- Die first. Yes, you must also die first. Be willing to be sown. Scripture says as long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest will not cease. Adopt the seed model, because for every seed sown, a harvest is sure to come from it.
- Be ready and willing to learn new things. Ignorance blinds people from seeing accurately and it is expensive. Thankfully, knowledge is affordable if you are willing to pay the price of diligent study. For example, by study, you can proffer answers to necessary questions as you evaluate where you are on the ladder of life at the moment.
There are some limitations to charting a new pathway. But the knowledge of these should not be a deterrent, rather, they should become a source of motivation for change and transformation. We will talk more on them next time.
