Choose Life
Deuteronomy 30:19, NKJV
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;
Beloved,
Life is full of choices. Some choices guarantee life while others lead to death. The ability to choose is a powerful ability God gave to man. The wise way to wield it is by submitting it back to God.
This is what Moses advised the children of Israel to do in the scripture above. He implored them to choose life by choosing a life of obedience to God.
Beloved, secure your life and destiny by complete obedience to God. Do not let God’s instructions seem burdensome to you because, indeed, they are not. The Bible says,
1 John 5:3 NKJV
For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
Do not let the devil complicate or interpret God’s instructions for you, Deuteronomy 30:11-14. God is faithful to communicate to you clearly what He will have you do; be faithful to do it and thereby guarantee life for you and your generation.
I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.
I call you blessed. I call you NATIONS.
Faith is The Evidence
Hebrews 11:1, NKJV
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Beloved,
I remember a conversation between a group of people some years back. A man was telling his friends about a driving ticket he just got, saying he was going to contest it because he was sure that he did not commit any offense. Another person in the group told him to check the ticket to see if there is a link to any video clip that could show the tape of the offense. He checked and found the link. He played the clip and alas, the video showed the evidence of the offense committed. At that point, every argument ended.
The power of evidence on the faith lane cannot be overstated. When there is evidence, fear is thrown out of the window. Think about it this way: if someone walks up to you and claims that he is the owner of your car, I am sure that the default response you would have is that the person must be kidding. However, if you notice that he is getting serious about his claim, the next step you would take is to quickly look for your vehicle particulars that would be used as an evidence that the car is yours. As soon as you have complete particulars that are up to date, you treat the person’s claim as noise.
The word that God spoke to you before you started that project, the word that you found on the pages of the Bible or written on the pages of your heart are the words of life that culminates into your faith, and this becomes your evidence against the claims of the devil. Write them down. Keep them in your heart. Believe them. Go over them regularly when the going is getting tough.
I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace.
I call you BLESSED. I call you NATIONS.
